19/06/2009: 'Easy-Peel' - Better peelability and reduced costs!
Fords were invited by a leading Greek dairy manufacturer to the common problem of cap peelability. Fage worked closely with Fords to develop an aesthetically pleasing aluminium closure with 'Easy-Peel' qualities..... and they saved money!
The Easy-Peel not only offers a reduction in peel force but also foil savings, whilst maintaining the reliability, efficiency and performance of existing machinery.
Conduction sealing to PET bottles has traditionally been a challenge overcome by 'welding' the foil with high temperatures and pressures. The mini-skirt design, used by Easy-Peel, reduces the resistance from side-seal whilst at the same time providing a good-sized pull tab to aid the cap removal.
The foil closure has always provided the lowest cost hernetic closure, and now with Easy-Peel the use of foil has never been easier.
