30/03/2009: New Managing Director at Fords
After 13 years at the helm of Fords, Peter Smith is looking forward to a new life in retirement, and he is succeeded as Managing Director by Martin Boyce, effective from 23rd March 2009.
Martin Boyce, is a 42 year old Chartered Engineer, with a background in manufacturing engineering and general management, primarily gained in the Aerospace sector. He also worked for several years as an industrial consultant including several assignments with major blue-chip clients in the food, pharmaceutical and automotive industries.
Martin said, "I am pleased to be joining Fords at an exciting time in its development. I am determined to ensure that Fords continues its consistent growth path and capitalises on the strong strategic partnerships that have been forged over many years."
The Company has invested continuously in new technological developments and innovative new products, and is poised to benefit from its market-leading position especially in capping and sealing systems.
Peter will continue working in the company until the end of April to ensure an orderly handover.
