Below you will find just some of our upgrades designed with our customer’s requirements in mind.
Tool Unit and Chute Upgrade
Fords can upgrade your existing press machine to accept new and improved bottle or container designs to attract and benefit your customer base. Upon receiving your new bottle or container drawing we will propose a new cap design to suite and provide you with a quotation for the upgrade requirements. On the majority of occasions this will consist of a New Tool unit and chute assembly (if required) to produce and transport the new cap.
Easy-Peel Cap System
Improve peelability and reduce costs! The 'easy-peel' cap closure system combines a reduced skirt-length and enlarged pull-tab to provide a quality seal with reduced peel forces. The 'easy-peel' cap closure system uses an innovative new design which ensures the same guaranteed seal quality as traditional foil caps with no reduction in machine reliability, efficiency or performance.
Foil Guiding System
The purpose of the Fords Foil Guiding System is to provide accurate positional control of aluminium foil when entering the Press Tool Unit. The noticeable results are reduced jams and machine downtime whilst increasing machine reliability and performance.
Foil Unwind Unit with Mechanical Disk Brake
The purpose of the Fords Unwind Unit with Mechanical Disk Brake is to provide accurate tension of the aluminium foil during the reel unwind operation. The noticeable results whilst using this technology are reduced unwind and braking problems and machine downtime whilst increasing machine reliability, efficiency and performance.
Air Cap Applier
The Purpose of the Air Cap Applier is to provide accurate positional control of the aluminium cap prior and during application to the bottle or container. This development in cap applying technology differs from traditional types as no moving parts are utilized in its operation. The noticeable results are reduced cap applying problems and machine downtime whilst increasing machine reliability, efficiency and performance.
Servo Press Head Conversion
The Purpose of the Fords Servo Press Head Conversion is to provide accurate position and tension control of the aluminium foil during the foil feed sequence, and to reduce and control the critical parameters associated with foil feed velocity and acceleration. This development in foil feeding technology differs from traditional mechanical types as it features all the benefits of modern Servo Motion Control and incorporates automatic detection of foil joints and automatic splice feed sequence.
Dry Foil Tooling
This system enables non lubricated foil to be utilised in the Press Tool Unit area without any major degrading of Tool Life and is of significant importance within aseptic type environments where foil lubrication is not permitted.
